The  Global Design Project Sketch Challenge #GDP042 is a beautiful design this week. Please go to their BLOG so that you can see the variety in the cards by the Design Team.
My design pulls in the circle element and the heart is changed to a lantern on my card. It’s not a Canada Day Card but I love my cute stuffed Beaver so he popped in for the photo op.
I’m starting with the center and working to the base. I love the Stampin’ Embossing Powders and I embossed the medallion in Copper on a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock. Be sure to use your Embossing Buddy first.  I cut the medallion out with the Layering Circles Framelits. Underneath is a scalloped circle also cut with the Layering Circles Framelits. These are adhered together with Fast Fuse. The lantern was stamped on Very Vanilla, first in Versamark, then Dapper Denim and quickly sprinkled with Stampin’ Embossing Power in Clear. Heat set with the Heat Tool.  Follow the same sequence for the label. Thanks so much is from Sweet Cupcake Stamp Set and is stamped first with Versamark, then sprinkled with Copper Stampin’ Embossing Powder. Cut this out with Bunch of Banners Framelits.
The card base is Dapper Denim, next layer is a piece from the Moroccan Designer Series Paper, top layer is Very Vanilla embossed with the Boho Chic Textured Impressions Embossing Folder. The little splatters were done with an old tool but could be duplicated with a toothpick. I used Dapper Denim and Delightful Dijon Stampin’ Write Markers to make the splatters.
Wrap Copper Metallic Thread around the Whisper White layer and secure in the back with snail. Adhere to the card with Fast Fuse. I popped up the Medallion and Dapper Denim circle with Dimensionals and did the same to the lantern. I put Dimensionals on both ends of the banner, adhered one end and brought the other end in a bit so that the banner would lift in the  middle.
Inside, I used Very Vanilla Cardstock, stamped the lantern in Dapper Denim in the top right, added Washi Tape to the bottom, stamped the sentiment from Thankful Thoughts in Versamark and sprinkled on Copper Stampin’ Emboss Powder. Tap off and heat with the Heat Tool. Adhere with Snail or Fast Fuse. Be sure to use the Embossing buddy before you stamp with Versamark…this helps with stray embossing powder.
I hope that you have enjoyed viewing this post as much as I loved making this card. I would love to be your Demonstrator so please head over to my SHOP and pick up anything that you need. Questions?? Drop me an email.
