Yes, it’s another Challenge Card! This one if for the Paper Players PP287 Clean-and-Simple Celebrate Spring! It’s a clean card because it’s raining in the card 😉
When I won the Bear Hugs Stamp Set at On Stage I didn’t think I’d ever use it and boy…was I wrong! I purchased the matching Framelits Dies and the rest is history. I’ve used the stamp set for cards present and future such as birthday, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and I bet I could make an Easter one too!
These two adorable bears are celebrating the April Showers that bring May Flowers and it’s officially Spring.
It’s obvious that I used the Bear Hugs Stamp Set and Thinlits…Awesome! I stamped the bears with Crumb Cake Stampin’ Ink on Crumb Cake Cardstock. I used the gorgeous Shine On Specialty Designer Series Paper with silver raindrops and used my Stampin’ Write Marker in Pacific Point to shade in the clear rain drops.
These two needed umbrellas so I made them out of Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack die cut with an oval framelit. Then I used the squiggle line from the Cutie Pie Thinlits to give the curves of the umbrella.
The umbrella handle is in Watermelon Wonder Cardstock and is cut with the candy cane from the Snow Places Framelits Dies. How clever is that!!! The top of the Umbrella is punched with small balloon shape from the Party Punch Pack. Of course they are highlighted with Wink of Stella!
Her skirt and hair bow were punched with Memento Black Ink on Vellum, die cut with the Bear Hugs Framelits Dies. These were colored on the reverse side with Watermelon Wonder and Calypso Coral Stampin’ Write Markers. Highlighted with Wink of Stella (trend here, it’s my fav!). His bow tie and bowler hat were colored on the reverse side with Pacific Point Stampin’ Write Marker. Flowers were stamped with Memento Black Ink and colored with Stampin’ Write Markers in Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi. I added a little pink to their ears and Wink of Stella on the nose, sun, umbrella handle and flowers…what can I say…I love Wink of Stella!
The sun is from Project Life Memories in the Making as is the sentiment sunny days Ahead…these were perfect! The sentiment was stamped in Pacific Point Stampin’ Ink. On the girl card, there’s a little bit of Linen Thread crumpled behind and adhered on with dimensionals. On the boy card, there’s a piece of 3/8″ stitched Satin Ribbon in Pacific Point with a little piece snipped from the edge of the 1-1-4″ Burlap Ribbon. I stapled those two together and adhered on the card with dimensionals. As you can see I cornered the sun so here’s a picture of how easy it is to do that. I used a dimensional and put it in the corner, turned it around and snipped off the excess.
On the inside I used hello, spring from the Circle of Spring Stamp Set. I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig and made sure it was aligned perfectly each time I changed color. Pacific Point, Crushed Curry and Watermelon Wonder. I just love the insides of these cards! There’s Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape on both interiors. The dotted piece on the top is only available if you are a HOSTESS. I used the Watermelon Wonder dots…love it! The bottoms feature two of the Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tapes.
Start with dimensionals on the bear and adhere to the card, then add the bow, skirt, hat and bow tie with squished up glue dots (they hide better). Attach the umbrella top with a glue dot to the inside of the umbrella, same as the handle. Adhere the whole thing to the card with dimensionals. Sun is in the corner and trimmed. Sentiment is adhered with dimensionals after you get the ribbon and trim together.
