Hello out there! There is special woman in my life and she’s my Mom, Anne Catherine Currie. Mom lives in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada and so far away from me that it hurts. We visit, we talk every day, sometimes twice and she’s really my best friend. I think I’m pretty lucky because I was adopted as a wee baby and I won the parent lottery with my Mom and Dad. They are wonderful. Dad left us some years back but I can still hear his advice in my mind, I know how much he loved me and I loved him. It’s not at all a sad story, my Mom is amazing, she is quick witted, lives in a great spot with lots of friends around her.  We visit as often as we can, she loves her grand babies, hubby and me. I miss her and love to send flowers so these are flowers for her in the form of a card.

Hello for my Mom

Hello for my Mom

The card base is Flirty Flamingo, layer one is Bermuda Bay Cardstock and the top layer is Whisper White Cardstock. I used the stamp sets Blooms & Wishes and Touches of Texture to make this special card.  I wanted a soft background for my flowers and the splatter stamp was perfect (to me it’s a splatter). I inked it with Flirty Flamingo, stamped it off first and then on the Whisper White Cardstock a few times. You can see a soft change in texture on the right hand side, this is with the lace looking stamp inked and stamped off with Sahara Sand. For the flowers, I inked the center flower in Bermuda Bay, stamped off and then stamped on the card. The center is Bermuda Bay full strength. I stamped a few other large flowers full strength in Flirty Flamingo and Peekaboo Peach. Don’t you just L O V E the way Stampin’ UP! names their colors…I DO!!! You can tell in the photo that I stamped off to get lighter flowers and full strength for some. Lastly, I added a few leaves using Pear Pizzazz–stamp off, then keep the stem on the cardstock and move the top of the leaf. Practice on a scratch piece of paper…easy peazy.

Of course there’s BLING–Wink of Stella  is on the Flirty Flamingo flower but you can’t tell in the photo. There’s Rhinestones, Silver Dazzling Details on a few more, Silver Metallic Thread and Silver Glimmer Paper for HELLO.  I wrapped the Silver Metallic Thread around the Whisper White Cardstock four times and spread them out a little. The HELLO is a magnificent die cut from the Hello You Thinlits. I cut three of them, one Silver and two Flirty Flamingo. I used the Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the two cardstock layers together, then Multipurpose Liquid Glue and a toothpick to adhere the Silver Glimmer Paper. I offset the last HELLO just a little.
