Isn’t it wonderful that EVERYONE has an opportunity to get FREE SHIPPING on their Stampin’ Up! order, sure do wish I knew about this last week since I placed a big order. You have the opportunity to get Christmas presents for your crafty friends and get free shipping “to boot”! Yes, “to boot” is a saying from my childhood and I’d say it means you get something else along with your order. This “to boot” is the free shipping!
I’m in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia Canada right now visiting my Mom. I am missing being able to create in my studio but I couldn’t bring it with me. I would love to be in two places at once or bring my Mom back to California with me but she loves it here in Cape Breton and wouldn’t leave. My Mom is in a great apartment, has friends and a few of our cousins helping her out. I’m counting my blessings.
Dimensions: Whisper White Thick Card Stock for the base, Layer 1 is Rich Razzleberry cut to 4 x 5-1/4″ and embossed with the Seaside Embossing Folder. The next layer is Watercolor Paper, you will sponge the sun on this layer. I stamped the sentiment on the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack (DSP) using Rich Razzleberry Ink, punched it out with Pretty Label Punch and used my Paper Snips to trim the top and bottom off.
For this card, I used the stamp set “Beachy Little Christmas”, stamped it in Tuxedo Black Ink on watercolor paper, let it dry and then used my Watercolor Pencils to color the houses. I loved the look I got by using my Blender Pen and the Watercolor Pencils. I used the NEW Blends to add the color to the bulbs in the tree. These were stamped on Watercolor Paper and cut out with my Scan-N-Cut by Brother since there are not matching framelits to cut them out. To get the look of a sun behind the houses, I made a template with the 2-1/4″ Circle Punch, then used two sponges inked with Daffodil Delight and Peek-A-Boo Peach from the Stampin’ Ink Pads. This will make the sun. Start your sponging off the circle to deposit the color on the scrap paper before hitting the circle on your main card. The two beach houses sit on a piece of the Wood Textures Designer Series Paper Stack. I ripped this to give it “a soft look”.
Assembly: Adhere the piece of Watercolor Paper with the sun to the embossed piece of Rich Razzleberry using Fast Fuse or Tombo Glue. Adhere the piece of Wood Textures DSP to the card using your choice of adhesive. Adhere the palm tree with combo to the card, then use Dimensionals on the back of the beach houses and attach them to the card. Attach a piece of 1/8″ sheer Fresh Fig Ribbon to both layers by wrapping around the back and tying a bow in the front. Pop up the sentiment with Dimensionals.
That’s it…
