Today’s card uses this month’s Creating Pretty Cards Sketch #57 over at Craft Project Central (CPC).  This is a great sketch and the card I made is quick and easy. I’m a Guest Designer at Craft Project Central for the months of March and May…so much fun! Come on over and have a look.

Both the card sketch and the inspiration card were designed by one of our very talented designers, Monika! We can’t wait to see what you all come up with. So please join us!

You could win a free month subscription to Craft Project Central if you play along! Post a card (using Stampin’ Up! products only) to your BLOG or an online forum (ie Splitcoaststampers) using the sketch, and use the keyword CPC57 when posting it. Use the link tool, on the CPC57 post, to link to your card (not just your blog, but the actual post, please). If posting to your blog, please link back to Craft Project Central. Cards must be submitted by March 31. For every 10 cards submitted, a winner will be drawn. When a CPC designer submits a card, their name will not go into the drawing, but will count towards the 10! Your chances of winning are VERY good, and I hope you’ll play along!

Here’s my card…

I used Basic Grey Cardstock as my base cut at 8-1/2 x 4-1/4″. Then added a Melon Mambo Cardstock layer cut at 5-1/8 x 4-1/8, a wordy layer from the Going Places Designer Series Paper Stack cut at 4-1/8 x 2-1/2″. I brushed the Melon Mambo Cardstock with my Embossing Buddy. Then used the Shine sentiment from Sunburst Sayings, inked it with Versamark and stamped. I reinked it three times. Then sprinkled Clear Embossing Powder over the sentiment and Heat Embossed. The photo doesn’t do the SHINE justice as it sparkles! I used Snail to adhere the Going Places DSP to the Melon Mambo, then adhered both to the Basic Grey base.

I punched five Stars out of Silver Glimmer Paper. Adhered three flat at the line of DSP, then added two more with Dimensionals to pop them up in the middle. I inked It’s Your Day with Versamark, then quickly inked it with Melon Mambo Ink. On a scrap piece of Whisper White Cardstock, I quickly sprinkled on Clear Embossing Powder and Heat Embossed.  I dovetailed the ends with the Hexagon Punch. Added a bit of Silver Metallic Thread to the back , popped it up with Dimensionals. I used a Sponge Dauber to add Melon Mambo to the edges, then added two small Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the ends.

This is a closeup of the Shine. I added three sizes of Rhinestone Basic Jewels in the top right corner and three black Metallics Sequin Assortment in the left corner above the stars. You can see in the placement in the top photo.

This is the inside. I used a strip of the Silver Glimmer Paper to the bottom, stamped the sentiments in Melon Mambo, stamped the little circles in Versamark, covered them with Heat and Stick Powder and Heat Embossed.

I hope that you like this quick and easy card, please leave me a comment and I’d LOVE to be your Stampin’ UP! Demonstrator.
