The Host Sets in the NEW Annual 2017-18 Catalog are amazing! I absolutely love this adorable set called In the City and I created a few cards with it today. It’s a whimsical and fun set with 60 pieces to play with. The first card I used my Misti to place the city stamps and placed the vehicle stamps in another Misti. Using Momento Black I stamped the vehicles on a masking paper (links to follow) and cut them out. I then covered the vehicles and stamped the background over the masked cars. I left the masking paper on and stamped the interiors of the buildings, added stone walls, inside of trees, clouds and sun. Yes! There are stamps for everything that you see! This really is a stamp set that you could use colors that you have in your stash. The colors I used will be listed below this post.
I stamped the plane on Whisper White Cardstock and fussy cut it out. I added a piece of Basic Black Solid Baker’s Twine to the back of the plane with a Glue Dot. I then snipped a few of the NEW Mini Dimensionals and added them to the back. The plane is flying above the city with a banner flying. How cute is that!!! The banner is stamped with sentiments from the set and punched with the NEW Pretty Label Punch.
You can see the sequential stamping and masking in the above photos. In the bottom one, the top of the building didn’t stamp but since I am using my Misti, I just reink and stamp again. It’s in the same position and comes out perfect. The interior has one simple house and the ribbon is gorgeous! I folded it over on itself and put a little staple in each side of the middle to create a loop. I attached to the ribbon strip with Glue Dots.
Here’s the second card…a little less stamping but I had to use up some of the 60 stamps in the above card. I love them both!!

Thanks Helen! It’s such a huge set to play with and so much fun.
Great card Carole! Also! I just noticed that you use washi tape on your MISTI magnets! Is this to lift them easier? If so, brilliant!
Thanks Stacey! Yes, the Washi tape makes lifting them so much easier and when they fuse together, it’s easier to get them apart.
Love your designs with this stamp set. Thanks for all the inspiration.
Thank you Annette…such a fun set!
Love your city scenes! And the colors are vibrant, which makes the scenes glow. Great job.
Oh, love your comments! Thank you.
I used this stamp set too for the host hop. You did an excellent job with the masking and the shadows under the cars. Beautiful cards.
