My name is Carole Anne Patterson.
I am a daughter, wife, mother, volunteer, un-domesticated Goddess, quilter, crafter and companion of a cute Havanese named Hazel. I am not defined solely by any of those titles–they are all hats that I wear at any given moment.
I love being creative–it lifts my spirits and fills my soul, when combined with great music, my Havanese Hazel curled in my studio and I can get lost for hours! I lost my beloved Havanese Frodo, he was my velcro puppy for 10 years, and while Hazel doesn’t replace Frodo, she’s a lovely little companion. Naughty and crazy in love with everyone, especially my hubby.
The newest addition to our family came three years ago, just before our oldest went off to college, he brought home DUKE from Oklahoma. While we didn’t quite agree to have another dog, it seemed that Duke was here to stay. After chewing away parts of my custom Ethan Allen furniture, shoes, stair case rails…Duke finally figured out that this was his home and he was staying. I did learn how to repair the huge bits taken out of my beautiful furniture and unless you look closely, you wouldn’t even know they had been gnawed away. It’s funny now but wasn’t so much at the time. Three years later, he’s the best behaved out of the three!
Another love of mine is fabric… I started sewing as a young girl and my love of creating hasn’t stopped, it ebbed and flowed through the years but being creative makes me happy. I love to make quilts–I just love the look of fabric, guess I’m a collector of fabric just like any quilter. It may sit for awhile on my shelves but I love to look at it, fabric is art and it makes me happy. I’ve made quilts for my kids, for school’s auctions, for our beds, for the sofas, for the walls, for anywhere I can fit any size quilt. I started back to quilting classes in January but Covid put a stop to those and we don’t know when they’ll start up.
I also love working with paper products and I make cards for all occasions. I decided to help my hobby pay for itself — I started to work as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and I did that for five years but I resigned in 2020. I decided that I wanted to use too many of the products available in the crafty world so I’m creating with many new things! Before Covid, I held card-making parties in my studio and these were a great opportunity to learn something new in a fun environment. I look forward to these happening again in the future.
Here are my fur babies – Gunny and Hazel…both are Havanese and are so cute and funny. They are my constant companions and I call them velcro pups because wherever I go they go. They also work for treats and let me know when UPS is delivering–loud and clear!
