The Global Design Project #GDP041 is a Color Challenge with the glorious 2016-2018 Sweet Sugarplum, Whisper White and Night of Navy. I love these colors together. I’m going to post more on this later tonight but I have to get this in by 10pm Pacific Time so here goes! Made it, now I’ll write a bit more.
The base of the card is Night of Navy and I used the border thinlit from Flourish Thinlits to cut the piece out of the front of the card. I measured the space to the left and cut a piece of Sweet Sugarplum from the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack 2016-1018 paper to fit. I stamped the flourish from Falling Flowers with Night of Navy on top of the DSP. The enjoy the little things sentiment is from Layering Love. I used the Embossing Buddy on a piece of Vellum, inked the stamp in Versamark and sprinkled it with White Embossing Powder, tapped off and used the Heat Tool to set. I fit a heart from the Sweet & Sassy Framelits Collection over the sentiment and cut it out with the Big Shot. I decided one layer was too thin so I cut another heart out of vellum. I stapled the hearts together at the tip then attached the hearts to each other with Glue Dots positioned under a few letters so they would be hidden.
The tiny bow is made with a wide tooth comb. Cool idea, instructions to follow in a few days. The boy is Sweet Sugarplum 3/8″ Runched Ribbon. I left my mistake as the boy when it’s really the bow but I guess I was subconsciously thinking of my little boy who now towers over me and is going on 17. Love it!!!
Back to the card. The inside is a piece of Whisper White Cardstock (I wish this program would stop autocorrecting cardstock to yardstick). I made a template of the front cut out of the card so that my placement would be perfect on the inside. I stamped Hello Friend, from the Thoughtful Banner Stamp Set, at the bottom and the top, then filled in the middle. The cute circle from the Enamel Shapes in 2016-2018 Colors Sweet Sugarplum was perfect to fill in between Hello Friend.
If you like my card, please leave me a comment as I’d love to hear from you. AND if you need a Demonstrator, I’d love to be yours. Head on over to my SHOP for all your supplies.
